
The Mifflinburg Area Community Scholarship Trust is pleased to announce the creation of the “Clair W & June Shively Bensinger Scholarship.” Keith D. Shively’s will laid out the guidelines for the establishment of the $2,500 perpetual scholarship. It was established to honor his sister June and brother-in-law Clair Bensinger.
The scholarship will be awarded to a Mifflinburg senior based on merit and the guidelines established by MACST at the senior awards program. The scholarship may be awarded to anyone continuing their education at a 2 or 4-year college, trade school, or in an approved apprenticeship program.
Keith Shively and his sister June were both born in Hartleton. They later moved to Mifflinburg and graduated from the Mifflinburg High School. June worked at the Hartleton Village and Clair was a member of a B-17 flight crew during World War II. He later worked for Greyhound Bus Lines. June and Clair were married and lived in Tinicum Township, Pennsylvania until Clair’s After his retirement they made their home in Mifflinburg for the remainder of their lives.
